Who are the Friends of the Barrington Public Library?
Founded in 1980, the Friends are a large and growing group of library lovers living in Barrington and nearby communities who want to do all they can to help their library!
How do the Friends help the library?
The Friends raise money through book sales and memberships. These revenues are entirely expended on improving the Barrington Library. For example, the Friends sponsor nearly 75 percent of all public library programs for children, teens and adults.
What else do the Friends purchase?
The Friends cover 100 percent of the cost of the Library’s popular program. They also purchase recorded books, movies, and print books for the library, as well as equipment, computers, and furnishings.
How do you join the Friends?
It’s easy! Simply fill out and mail or drop it off at the library with your membership dues.
